The Horse and Groom is a traditional Coaching Inn set in the lovely village of Newthorpe, near Nottingham. As an Old English Inn it retains many original features such as open fires and oak beams. These, combined with the comfort and convenience of modern facilities, a winning combination of traditional hearty food, friendly staff, and great service, make the Horse and Groom a firm favourite with locals and travellers alike. There is a large garden for dining outside in the warmer months. Located only eight miles from Nottingham, the Inn offers a great location for conferences and other receptions or parties. From M1 Junction 27, take the slip road left for the A608 towards Heanor/Hucknall. At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto the A608/Heanor. Keep straight onto the B600/Willey Lane, after two miles the Horse and Groom is on your left.
From M1 Junction 26, take slip road left for A610 towards Ripley/Nottingham At roundabout, take 3rd exit onto A610/Nottingham. At the next roundabout take the 1st exit onto B600/Nottingham Road. After you pass under the motorway turn right [at the Three Ponds Pub] to stay on B600/Watnall Road, after three miles the Horse and Groom is on your right.
